Wāhine Safety Centre Pride Month celebration

Celebrating Pride Month at Wāhine Safety Centre

July 27, 20261 min read

Pride Month is an opportunity to celebrate diversity, foster connection and remind our community that everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and supported.

To mark the occasion, our team transformed the outside of Wāhine Safety Centre with rainbow banners and invited the community to join us for free fairy bread and ice creams. It was a simple way to bring people together, start conversations and celebrate the diversity that makes our community stronger.

The day was warmly received, with people of all ages and backgrounds stopping by to connect with our team, meet others in the community and enjoy the celebrations.

At Wāhine Safety Centre, we are committed to creating a space where people feel seen, respected and welcomed. We want members of the LGBTQIA+ community to know that if you need our support, you will be treated with dignity, compassion and respect.

We are grateful to everyone who came along and helped make the day such a success. The positive response has inspired us to make our Pride Month celebration an annual event, and we look forward to welcoming our community back again next year.
